It's been awhile!

So Michelle chastened me into doing an update so here it goes.
I am now 28 weeks pregnant and definitely feel it. Although most people don't think I look it. The baby really likes to kick me and it really hurts somestimes. Benjamin is getting bigger and saying so much. Somehow he learned to do a fist bump and says a version of dude when he says it. But it comes out more as duuuuu.
Joe had a interview with an accounting firm in Drumheller (I know) and thought it went really well. As much as we would love to stay in Lethbridge we will take a job just about anywhere. At least if we end up moving back to Drum I will know people there. Plus in a smaller town Joe would be able to experience more accounting wise than if he worked in one area at a bigger firm elsewhere.
We did move to our new place beginning of September and I love it. We have a 3 bedroom townhouse with a fenced in backyard. The best part is our rent. Because we are subsidized we only pay $266 a month plus our utilities. If we weren't subsidized it would b $720 a month which is still great for Lethbridge.
Well the baby is playing on my bladder so I gotta go. Kara

In Limbo

So I realize that I have not updated this for a while so here it goes. The place we moved into for June was horible and the landlords refused to quickly take care of problems without yelling at us and having us threaten to move. So rather than deal with it we moved out. We didn't really have anywhere to move so we are staying in Diana and Logan's basement. Once we moved here I stopped being nauseated and I believe that the other place made me sick. I am about 3 months along now and still feeling pretty good. We are more than likely going to move into a Co-op here in Lethbridge which has cheap rent compared to the rest of Lethbridge.
I did get another year older yesterday and the day went pretty well. The weather here is really weird. It has hailed about 3 times in the last 3 1/2 weeks which is more than we usually see in one summer.
We went on a day trip to Waterton and the wild flowers were gorgeous. Benjamin enjoyed the day as well.
We also took Ben swimming for the first time and he really liked it.

Move!

So Joe and I have moved. It was by far the worst move I hope to EVER incounter. First the place wasn't cleaned and I had to stress over the landlords getting someone in to clean it, then the truck wasn't where it was supposed to be so it came like an hour late, then we only had one person from our old Elder's quorum and one from our new Elder's quorum and one friend plus Joe to help move all of our stuff in. Once we did get in on Friday our fridge didn't work and wasn't replaced with a brand new fridge that also didn't work until Monday which wasn't replaced with another brand new fridge that worked Wednesday. We used a mini fridge that held two gallons of milk brought over by our landlords in the meantime. Then we went camping near Hanna with the Drumheller branch and it rained and hailed on us Saturday. When we got back to our house on Sunday about 7:30 - 8:00 the landlords had changed the locks because if the door was shut to hard the lock wouldn't open weird huh, anyways they rekeyed the new lock to the wrong key so we had to wait until the sent the locksmith from Magrath which is about 20 -30 min away to come in and rekey the lock. Oh and on Sat. May 31st Benjamin fell off the couch hit his head on our baby rocking chair and needed two stitches on his eyebrow. And when we were trying to switch over our telus phone to Vonage which should have been done on by the 30th it took until the 5th and no one could tell us anything helpful to why.

On the plus side since most people up here in Canada know I figured I would make an announcment to the Web that Joe and I are pregnant and expecting Jan 21st. This pregnancy so far is totally weird and I am have the non cravings where I am hungry and want to throw up but don't want to eat anything that I can think of. The only craving that I really do have is for Juice or pop or chocolate milk but not water.

Hello All!

So life is going pretty good here. This month is going to be crazy busy for us because Joe's sister is getting married on the 24th (which I still need to make a skirt for) and we are moving to the southside of Lethbridge on the 30th. The place we found is smaller but closer to the College which will hopefully cut down on Gas. Joe is taking 3 summer classes and working as well so we won't see each other much for like the next 6-8 weeks. Convergys where Joe works is closing down by August 31st and Joe will get his letter which informs him of his last day sometime this upcoming week. They are giving out bonuses to people if they stay until their last scheduled day. The bonuses start at $500 so Joe will probably stay til the end. I am excited and sad to leave the Westside seeing as I have lived over here for over 5 years. Work is going well for me. Of course their are good days and bad days but Wholesale might be putting in a discount system which I am excited about. Anyways hope all is well. Love Kara

Frustrating Dr.'s and Good Dr.'s

So Benjamin has been sick again. On Wednesday Joe took him into a walk-in clinic where the Dr. told him that he just had a bad cold. Well that night around 11 pm his temp. jumped to 104 F so I insisted that we take him to Emergency. Once we finally saw a Dr. he really didn't like how he was breathing, which was really hard so he had a chest x-ray taken. The contraption they put babies in for the x-ray reminds me a lot like torture. The x-ray came back and he had pneumonia. I am really quite shocked that the first Dr. didn't order an x-ray after seeing his breathing which was really very similar to how he was breathing when the 2nd Dr. saw him. I actually think that he probably had pneumonia the first time (about 2-3 weeks ago) he was sick and didn't really get over it and got sick again which just brought it back. The first time he was sick we went to the same walk-in clinic and the Dr. said once again just a bad cold. We took him to a different Dr. and he said he had inflamed tonsils and gave him antibiotics which probably help clear up the what I suspect now to be pneumonia (he was breathing very similar both times he was sick but the second time was way worse). I really have a lot of respect for ER Dr.'s now because they were willing to order more tests to actually figure out what is wrong and not just assume he had a bad cold. Benjamin is feeling a lot better now. He is taking like 3 naps a day for about 2 hours compared to when he isn't sick which is usually one sometimes two a day for about a total of two to three hours of sleep. Well gotta go. Kara

And now I am sick

So Joe and I have just spent days and nights worrying and caring for Ben and now I am sick. At least I can function still Ben is just begining to play and drink again. I hope my illness doesn't turn into whatever Ben has because I think he is still worse off than I am. By the way Ben turns one on Friday. YEAH we actually made it through a whole year without completely going crazy (I think).

Poor Benjamin!

So Friday morning 3 a.m. Benjamin woke up with a fever over 100F. So I took him in to see the Dr. and he said that it was only a really bad cold that is going around. Well I got home from work last night and his fever, which we were controlling with tylenol but he was asleep so we didn't want to wake him, had gone up to 102F. Joe being the wonderful father he is spent most of the night sleeping in the arm chair with Ben because anytime we moved Ben he would wake up. Just for the record though I did spend from like 4 a.m. yesterday sleeping in the arm chair with Ben. We decided to take him in to another walk in clinic because he is eating and sleeping less and getting a worse fever. The Dr. there thought his throat looked red and infected and prescribed antibiotics. Let's hope they work quickly.

Back To Work

So I started back at the Wholesale Club last week and all is going fairly well. I did have one customer come to me thinking he could pull the wool over my eyes because I "looked" new. He left 4 boxes of chicken fillets on his cart and put up a box of chicken burgers. The chicken burgers cost about $12 a box less than the chicken fillets. Well I caught it and I don't think he realized I caught it until he was checking over his receipt outside.
Joe and I went to Drumheller for Easter which was nice but Benjamin loves getting into all of Grandma's stuff and there is a lot of stuff he can get into. He especially loved dumping the dog's water all over the floor, twice. Daisy the dog really has no patience for babies and I think Ben made her mad the last time we visited by playing with her toys.
Grandma Puzey gave Benjamin a big Leopard printed looking bear which Ben really likes especially if you make it look like it is talking.
Best story ever------I was in the living room and Ben was playing in the kitchen. I heard a bang and than a lot of plasticky noises coming from where he was playing so I went to investigate. I found Ben on the floor with saltine crackers surrounding him and he was justing eating away. It was dinner time but his food wasn't ready yet. Apparently he decided to go find his own food. Have a great week everyone.

Life!

So I am no longer completely crazy. I was able to get out at least for a bit these last few days which was good. On Thursday I decided to try go out into the backyard here and let Benjamin run/walk around and play. Well that was all fine and good until I tried to get out. I forgot when I shut the gate behind me that the inside pull to get out had broke. So when I tried to get out I realized that I was locked in. I tried climbing up the fence a little to reach the latch and that didn't work. I tried every toy in the backyard and they didn't seem to work. I even tried to move a boulder from the backyard over to stand on and I couldn't lift it. Somehow one of the toys that I used unlatched the gate and we were able to get out. I did think about waiting for the people upstairs to come home but I had no idea how long they were going to be. Good thing I didn't wait, she didn't come home for at least an hour after I wanted to go back in.

I go back to work next week. I am starting to worry about all of the produce codes that I have forgotten. It is like I am going to be a brand new cashier that knows too much and yet not enough.

Going Crazy!!!!!

So I look out my little windows and see the sun shining and yearn to go out for a walk and get out from under this fake lighting. Being not the only one who is going out I check the weather channel and find out the current state of affairs outside. Now anyone who knows Lethbridge knows that it can be windy here. But of course today, the day when I am feeling so very stir crazy, is one of the windiest in awhile. The wind speed is somwhere between 64 km/h gusting up to 78km/h. I am not completely crazy and know that at that speed even when it is sunny and warm out would not be good for walks with a 11 month old. So here I am grateful that I put Benjamin down for a nap before his whining completely drove me nuts. I love being a mom, but somedays I just want out of this house. With only one car, which Joe has, and the weather outside looking so deceiving I just want out. By the way I can't use the computer when Ben is awake because he loves to grab all of the cords or the printer or bang on the keyboard. Enough of my complaining, I should be happy that I get the car tomorrow.

Joe's brother left sometime today for the MTC which is exciting. I know we will miss him. Time does seem to go by a lot faster than it may appear.

First Time Blogger!

So I have never blogged before and have no idea how to run this site yet. But I will learn.
Life is going great for us here. Joe is almost finished his first year at the Lethbridge College and has really enjoyed his studies there so far. I am going back to work on the 18th and having mixed emotions about doing this. First off I am excited to get some time away from Benjamin who gets into everything. Second I am dreading leaving him because he has been my 24/7 job for almost the whole last year. Benjamin is walking now which leaves everything overturned in my house. His little hands can reach up on top of the table and also open our 2 kitchen drawers. He loves chewing on shoelaces or anything string. Kinda like a puppy dog! I love making him laugh and get a kick out of playing his version of tag.

Ron, Joe's brother, leaves for his mission to Lima, Peru on Wedsnesday. I am excited for him to be doing this but saddened to not see him for two years. Benjamin has just started liking him and now he probably won't recognize him when he comes home.

Right now I am cooling my first ever homemade cheesecake and think I am going to be up for a while longer.

Hope everyone is doing well.
